Jake’s Rockin’ Country Band

Jake’s Rockin’ Country Band is tops among the tri-state area’s leading country bands, loved by country music fans and city slickers alike. They have delighted fans at festivals, galas, barn dances, charity gigs, bars, weddings, even backyard BBQs, performing the best of classic country, bluegrass, Southern rock, Cajun, Zydeco & New Orleans. Performances include hits by country music luminaries including Blake Shelton, Kenny Chesney, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean, Jake Owen, Garth Brooks, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, Marshall Tucker, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and more. 

Flutist Jazmyn Fuentes Wins 

County-wide Music Award

Morgan Park Summer Music Festival (MPSMF) is pleased to announce the 2021 winner of the Marguerite Suozzi Music Scholarship. Jazmyn Fuentes, a graduating senior at Freeport High School, was chosen to receive the award, based on her musical achievements and her desire to pursue a career in Music Education. Jazmyn is a flutist who has received A+ ratings in levels 5 and 6 of the  NYSSMA Evaluation Festival. She comes highly recommended by her H.S.  Music Department, where she is a member of the Concert Band, Marching Band, where she held leadership positions, the Wind Ensemble, and the elite Sinfonietta. 

 

The Marguerite Suozzi Young Performers Competition was named for one of the founders of MPSMF, who chaired the volunteer concert committee for over 50 yearsThe award, open to all Nassau County graduating seniors who intend to pursue a career in music, is administered by The Nassau County Music Educators Association.

Morgan Park Summer Music Festival Marches in Glen Cove's 2019 Memorial Day Parade

Volunteers from Morgan Park Summer Music Festival recently marched in Glen Cove's annual Memorial Day Parade.  Dressed in their green and white shirts and carrying signs announcing this year's concert schedule, board members were greeted by parade spectators who expressed their excitement for this year's concerts which begin on June 30 with Fun Opera in the Park and end on August 25 with a folk concert by A Band Called Honalee.

 

On July 4, MPSMF will also host a tribute to Billy Joel by Richie Cannata and the Lords of 52nd Street.  All concerts begin at 7:30 pm and are held in Morgan Park on Germain Street.   Rain location is St. Patrick's Parish Hall, Pearsall Avenue, Glen Cove.
